Pool service software pricing
PoolSpartan is free for your business. We earn a flat $4.95 on each invoice paid through the app, and your customer pays it. No subscription, no tiers, no charge per technician.
What your business pays
$0. No monthly bill, no setup charge, no per-seat price, no cut of your service price. We never ask for a card, so there is nothing for us to bill. Every feature is on every account. Your crew's app, FieldSpartan, is free too.
What your customer pays, and when
When a customer pays an invoice through PoolSpartan, the invoice carries one extra line: a flat $4.95 for PoolSpartan. It is the same on an $80 invoice as on an $800 one. That line goes to PoolSpartan; your service charges go to you.
- Paid invoice: $4.95.
- Voided invoice: nothing.
- Refunded invoice: the $4.95 is refunded too.
- Cash or check you don't record in PoolSpartan: nothing.
Card and bank processing charges go to Stripe, never to PoolSpartan, and you can pass them on to the customer as their own line or absorb them. The full breakdown is on how PoolSpartan makes money.
Worked example
A route of 100 pools, each invoiced once a month and paid through the app, is 100 paid invoices.
- Your business pays $0.
- Each customer pays $4.95 on their paid invoice, as one line beside your service charge.
- Add a technician and nothing changes. Close for the season and send no invoices, and PoolSpartan earns nothing.
PoolSpartan against Skimmer, Pool Brain and Pool Office Manager
Your business pays $0 on PoolSpartan at every size. Skimmer, Pool Brain and Pool Office Manager each bill your business every month, and the bill grows with your pools, technicians or users. Each rival column is that company's own published price.
| Pools a month | Technicians (assumed) | PoolSpartan (your business pays) | Skimmer (Scaling Up) | Pool Brain (One plan, all features) | Pool Office Manager (One plan) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 50 | 1 | $0 | $100 | $115 | $125 |
| 100 | 2 | $0 | $200 | $180 | $150 |
| 200 | 4 | $0 | $400 | $310 | $200 |
Assumptions. Every pool is serviced and invoiced once a month. One technician per 50 pools; the owner is one of them and there are no separate office users. Card and bank processing, sales tax and optional add-ons are left out of every column. PoolSpartan's only charge is the flat $4.95 on each invoice paid through the app, paid by your customer.
- Skimmer: $98 a month, which includes 49 serviced locations, plus $2 a month for each additional location. Getting Started ($1 per location, from $49) is for 0 to 49 pools a month, so every size here is on Scaling Up. Skimmer bills a location only in months it is serviced. - Pool Brain: $50 a month for unlimited office users, plus $65 a month per active field technician. No minimum is published; the page's calculator runs from 0 to 50 technicians. Taking card and bank payments through Pool Brain adds $20 a month, not counted here. Source: www.poolbrain.com/pricing/.
- Pool Office Manager: $125 a month for the first user, plus $25 a month for each additional user. Users here are the technicians. QuickBooks Online (+$25 a month) and customer text messages (from $10 a month) are extra. Teams of 12 or more users are quoted separately. Source: www.poolofficemanager.com/pricing.
